Our ethos

  • There is nothing normal about the way we operate here in Norfolk, East Anglia, England
  • Serious about trading fairly, whereby we supply our producers with the all the support, tools and equipment they require, plus the much needed trade links that develop their skills and lives further
  • Preference is applied precisely by measuring our successes on the real and positive impact we cultivate, helping out by forging such unique trading relationships overtime is our niche
  • Everything is done with a clear conscience. Proud to be remarkably different, in all ways
  • We love nothing better than investing in exceptional quirky often historic pieces, specifically to give them whole new and happy life with you all, our lovely customers
  • Our producers are our friends. We celebrate festivals with them, are guests at their weddings and some of our wares have been secured in the most unconventional ways – like the time we bought a local fishing fleet of village boats. The benefits meant that the village chief could commission for a more modern handmade fleet of hand crafted teak. Well we simply could not sit back and just watch, let alone allow this beautiful 120 year old worked teak get cut, burnt and destroyed forever, no thanks.  Exactly! Investing we created a unique range of boat furniture. This took nine months to adapt sympathetically. Once imported our lovely sunny customers gratefully make full use of them all now, all over sunny Britain. Yes, it’s a simple story but it is a realistic picture that we are highly passionate about real fair trade and you all can shop in complete and absolute confidence here, because like you we care
  • We trade in sustainable products with clear conscience at heart.  We promote this activity all round as the benefits always outweigh the costs.  Ethical trading is the bedrock of everything we do. There is so much illegal wood felling we go to buy the wood and take the wood to be seasoned and then take the wood to the producer. That way we all know with complete re-assurance that the wood has been legally dried and been seasoned. It is a very short supply chain and very open supply chain
  • Specialist suppliers of Reclaimed Acacia, Teak, Monkey pod, Magnolia and Suar Woods – all certified
  • Using the fast younger breeds, highly sustainable hardwood species, we are committed to plantation activities across South East Asia
  • Majority speaking our product lines are seasonal.  Once gone, it is often gone for good. Proudly our range evolves, changing daily
  • Prices range from £1-£6000 upwards, we have something for everyone.  Bespoke sourcing services are available
  • Our showroom displays about 60% of our range at any one time, is based along the quayside keeping the town’s history as a trading gateway to the world alive, unloading our cargo on to the quayside as traders did centuries before us
  • Our home has its origins in the 11th Century as a spice trading hall and it shares its original flint wall with a 13th Century friary and cloisters
  • Buy from us! You’ll never have to worry about where anything started it’s life out or how it’s producers have been treated
